Today on Guru Purnima, we pay reverence to our beloved Guru Maharaj and offer our gratitude to the lineage of teachers who have passed on this ancient wisdom for all of mankind.

Here are some pictures of our celebrations today – we started with a full Bhagavad Geeta Havan (reciting all 700 verses of the Bhagavad Geeta), followed by Hanuman Chalisa and Pad Pooja for Guruji.

We would like to welcome one and all to Geeta Ashram Malaysia tomorrow to celebrate Holi & Maharaji’s 121st Birthday Celebrations. 

Some of our youth and children are putting up a short skit on the story of Holi, and we are all really excited! Here’s a sneak preview of tomorrow 😉

Holi & Maharaji’s 121st Birthday Celebrations @ Geeta Ashram Malaysia

As is the tradition, we will be observing the spring festival of Holi this year in conjunction with the 121st birthday of our beloved Guru Maharaji on Wednesday, the 20th of March. It is a happy occasion to give reverence and gratitude to His Grace for all the blessings and our well being of the community at large.

The programme will be as follows:

Morning

10.00am: Geeta Path – Recitation of all 18 Chapters
1.00pm: Preeti Bhojan

Evening

7.00pm: Sandhya Aarti
7.15pm: Guru Vandana, Recitation of Chapter 12 with samput verse “Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu…”

7.45pm: Children / Youth Presentation – A skit on Holi

8.00pm: Simple personal Guru Pooja, obeisance & offering / dakshina with simultaneous bhajans / chanting

8.45pm: Announcements / Final Aarti

9.00pm: Lighting of Holi fire / circumambulation followed by Preeti Bhojan

The children have a short but fun skit put up this year to share with all, and we look forward to having all of you join us.

Join us today in celebrating the auspicious Guru Purnima 🙂

We will be having a full Bhagavad Geeta reading today from 10.00 am – 1.00pm followed by pot luck lunch.

Following that, Geeta Ashram will be closed in view of the Lunar Eclipse.

We will be celebrating Guru Purnima on Sunday, 29.07.2018 from 11.00 am – 1.00pm.

We would like to invite each and every one to join us tomorrow for Guru Purnima Celebrations. In view of the Lunar Eclipse, we will be having Full Purnima Geeta Reading from 10. 00 am – 1.00 pm on Friday, 27.07.2018. Following which, the ashram will be closed until Saturday. We will be celebrating Guru Purnima on Sunday, 29.07.2018 from 11.00 am – 1.00pm.

We would like to invite one and all to join us for Guru Purnima celebrations this Friday, 27.07.2018 as well as Sunday, 29.07.2018. Details as follows:

Purnima, the day of full moon in the month of Ashadh (June/July) is traditionally celebrated as Guru Purnima. Also known as Vyas Purnima, this day is celebrated in remembrance and veneration to sage Ved Vyas. He is the Adi (Original) Guru of the Hindu Dharma, who classified the Vedas, wrote the eighteen Puranas and the great epic Mahabharat.

In this respect, our program at the Ashram is as follows:-

 27.07.2018

Morning :    10.00a.m. –  to 1.00p.m.   

  Chanting of 700 verses of the Geeta  (Purnima Reading) & Preeti Bhojan (pot luck style)

 

29.07.2018:
11.00a.m.     –        Sandhya Aarti followed with Bhajans

11.30a.m.     –        Guru Vandana

                              Recitation of Chapter 12 with samput verse (Guru Brahma Guru Vishnur….)

                              Geeta Aarti

11.55a.m.     –        “Importance of Guru in our Spiritual Path”

                               followed by Guru Namaskar / personalized Pooja* conducted by Panditji

1.00p.m.       –       Final Aarti & Preeti Bhojan

 

* Dikshits may bring a thali (tray), with flowers and lamp for Aarti along with your offering / Guru Dakshina  and pay reverence to our dear Guru Maharaj Ji.

We look forward to celebrating Guru Purnima, to revere our beloved Guru – Swami Hari Harji Maharaj. Swamiji dedicated his life to spreading the immortal message of the Bhagavad Geeta and we are all truly blessed to have been in Swamiji’s presence and receive the blessings of the Bhagavad Geeta.

The Geeta Ashram Youth would like to wish each and everyone a blessed Holi!

We had a wonderful celebration in Geeta Ashram earlier tonight, where we recited Chapter 12 and 15 of the Bhagavad Geeta, followed by the Holika Dahan. Here are some pictures!

After the Holika Dahan, we made our way back to the prayer hall to celebrate the 120th birthday of our revered Guruji – Swami Hari Harji Maharaj 🙂

One of our devotees, Mrs Suresh Shukla, shared with us her fond memories with Swamiji. It was truly a wonderful feeling to be with our Geeta Parivaar Tonight.

We also sang bhajans and performed Paad Puja to our revered Guruji.
